2014

DISCLAIMER: this is not the “Dottor Milione top 20 Youtube videos of 2013, but I will do that in the following days, so stay tuned!

DISCLAIMER P.S.: If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check the 2012 list.

So, the time for the usual yearly wrap-up has finally come.

2013 has been a pretty amazing year and, as it is usually happening recently, always better than the previous.

Easy to say, the most important thing that happened to me was my actual New Year – the 25th of August – when I moved to Copenhagen to start another amazing and interesting year abroad. I met some wonderful people, a new family, and the most amazing house I’ve ever lived in.

Another major win was the fact that I successfully made it throughout the year at Bocconi without dying or surrendering to the dark side (my exam sweatpants are the tangible proof).

And goats have finally taken over the Internet:

Also, it was a year of re-discovery: I travelled back to London after 6 years and to Dublin after 2 years. I finally had the chance to drink a Guinness again (I made a promise to myself that I would never drink Guinness outside Ireland – experts know that they are two completely different beers). It was breathtaking.

I also had the chance to meet again and talk to some old friends that I thought they were lost forever.

Finally, but this happened in 2014, I saw my beloved Xbox again. And it is also the reason why this post ends here. Sorry, I’ll be back shortly with the top videos of 2013.

Happy New Year everybody!

Leaving is never easy

This post couldn’t start with a different song:

Every time it gets harder.

Today I started packing all my stuff, and I became sad. I know, I’m leaving in 2 days, but there is so much stuff that I need to start some days earlier.

Going through books, notes, presents, made me realise how amazing this year has been. Friends, exams, more-than-friends… This is where everything gets harder. Most of my classmates will only leave for a semester and they will be back here in Milan to complete their studies, but not me. I will spend the whole Academic Year in Copenhagen, and I’ll be back here in Italy just for the graduation (hopefully I’ll have a job there and I will be back in CPH).

Today I also packed my Xbox. I know it sounds stupid, but it was the hardest thing to do, because I will never be able to bring it over in Denmark, and it will have to remain at home… Good bye Xbox, take care!

good bye xbox

Apart from that, I already packed 3 suitcases. I still got 2 more bags to pack, but luckily I’ve got my awesome car here that will help me moving everything in just one trip (fingers crossed).

However, packing didn’t stop me from finding amazing videos on Youtube. I started to think that this is the real purpose of my life. So, here you go:

1. Amazing body-painting from Fiat USA… I’m wondering why we never get amazing ads like this in Italy (here the article from Mashable):

2. This NSA thing is getting out of hands:

3. Good ad from Qualcomm, showing how the world without mobile would be… The hashtag #BornMobile is getting trending on Twitter:

4. I’m still sad, and this song is the perfect background music I need:

There’s only one thing left in my drawer now. But it’s by far the most important thing now. BRING IT ON COPENHAGEN!!

Bring it on Copenhagen

But that’s not the issue

You know that feeling when you think you forgot something important?

I’m having it right now. Yesterday I finally completed my application for the Double Degree programme (it was the last day for the registration), but I can’t seem to figure out what else of the same importance I had to do.

I have to find an accommodation in Copenhagen, but that’s not the issue.

I’ve got plenty of group projects, but that’s not the issue. I always remember that. And I also remind it to you in pretty much all the posts.

Presentations and exams are getting closer. But that’s not the issue.

I have – or better, I want – to go back home for the weekend and finally get my awesome car back. Oh, yeah… She wasn’t feeling very well, so I had to take her to the doctor. But that’s not the issue. How could I forget my car?

I have to pay the bills for the utilities. But that’s not the issue.

What is it, then?

I need some good music to help me think about it.

YES. Found it. I still have to complete Assassin’s Creed III.

How did I get here?

Have you ever stopped for a while and wondered how you got to that precise moment?

I like to do that – quite often lately, especially because I tend to forget things – and every time it gets me into one of those “trips” that make me forget I am cycling to University (and almost get killed by cars).
Questions like “How did I get here physically?”, “Why am I in Milan right now?”, “How did I get selected for the Double Degree programme?”, “Why is that car heading towards me?”, etc… have become a routine now. You should try sometimes, if you’ve never done it before.

And here comes the first pick, it could be of help:

I was also thinking about what being friends really means.
Today was one of those days where I felt really proud of myself in helping a friend who’s not in “his best shape”, and I wouldn’t even realize what I was doing unless some people made me notice it, and I’ve known him for only 9 months.  The truth is, some people really get into your life and are able to change it, no matter if you’ve known them for years or just a short time.

Holy crap, it’s already twelve thirty. Gotta go to bed because tomorrow it’ll be another of the “How did I get here?” days. And I’ll keep developing this topic. If you like it. Or if you understand it (today my language skills are on holiday).

Goodnight!

Oh, yeah… The title.

Sorry. It’s been so long that I almost forgot the password to log in.

Some updates on their way.

I got the documents for my Double Degree programme in Copenhagen – it means I’ve been accepted by the Copenhagen Business School as well (yaaaaaaaaaay!!) – and I’ve started to look for a (possibly cheap) place where to live. I fell in love with one of the dorms, the Tietgenkollegiet. Here are some pictures and you will understand why it is so amazing:

See? Amazing stuff… It was also mentioned on 9gag (thanks sbiri <3)!!

We had some updates in our house too, and a Chinese guy arrived. However, he’s already leaving because of some issues 😦

Switching to another completely unrelated topic, I had some breaks from University – which didn’t help me very much to be fair. As a matter of fact, I am at home with my family now, but I do not feel free as I still have group projects to develop. Plus, my mother is already depressed thinking that I will leave for another year. It’s not the best break I could desire.

Nevertheless, I am surrounded by amazing people… I’m finding out day after day who are the people I’ll never forget, even though this experience in Milan only lasted for one year (I’m already speaking of Milan as it were a thing from the past).

Oh, I started Assassin’s Creed III. This is by far the most important thing. And the 3rd season of Game of Thrones has started, which brings me to the first pick of the day:

Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Second pick of the day (was actually some days ago, but nevermind… Making fun of celebrities is always good):

And lastly, some Drum n’ base, which always puts me in the right mood to study do something useful… Enjoy!
