Sorry, I’m back…

…right when you lost faith in my blog.

Just kidding, I know you didn’t realize I wasn’t writing anymore.

This last couple of months have been unbelievably wonderful: I finally settled in Copenhagen (and I have no intention of leaving it). My flat is amazing, my flatmates too. And the people I’m meeting every day.

I have to summarize two months, but I’ll keep it as short as possible.

1) Copenhagen is not as cold as I’ve been told (so far). It’s just freakin’ windy

2) I couldn’t choose better courses than those I selected (we’ll see this at the exam)

3) Cyclists are crazy (but not as much as me)

4) I won some pretty awesome headphones thanks to Telia (see amazing picture attached):

5) I found some incredibly good Youtube channels: THIS and THIS. I got this song stuck in my head the whole day:

6) If you recycle here, you get the money back (guess how much my recycling rate went up):

7) If you don’t have a CPR, you are nobody (you will be asked for your CPR every time you want to do something that involves money)

8) I’ve got a Bugatti (just the bike, but I still have a Bugatti and you don’t!)

9) Everything’s happy, even sockets (this is probably the reason why Denmark is the happiest country in the world):

happy socket

10) My hand-ironing skills are reaching new unprecedented levels:

11) I miss Italian food (no jokes here, this is serious business):

12) Denmark landscape is astonishing:

13) Danish people love to control everything, also your farts’ speed…

14) …and they are not so good in selecting #hashtags:

15) Finally, I am studying. With a library like the Black Diamond, everything’s possible (sort of):

studying you're doing it right

That’s pretty much it, folks.

I hope you enjoyed the quick wrap-up of the last two months. Stay tuned for more news!

Home…?

I should have written this post last night, but I was way too tired to be able to write down something.

So, basically, last night I came back. The Milan experience is over. Mixed feelings.

last moments

The last moments with my flatmates were almost unreal, nobody could realize that in few moments everything was going to finish. I had such an amazing experience in this house, with both positive and negative sides… It’s easy to say “I’ll never forget it”, but this time it will be for real… And yeah, it could be that my experience in Denmark will be even more amazing, but still, this was gold.
The message I received from my flatmates as soon as I arrived home moved me, and my friends know that I usually cry once or at maximum twice a year…

everything packed

So, everything was ready, but I still had to find the force to leave the house… My lovely flatmate gave me a USB key as a present, and she put inside a picture we took when we used to have breakfast on the terrace every morning. The title of the pic was “I’ll miss you, enjoy your trip!”:

Enjoy your trip

So I had to run away and cry on my already empty bed… Oh, wait.. It wasn’t even mine anymore. Sorry new flatmate, you’ll find your bed washed with not-so-manly tears!

But let’s get going… I managed to pack everything in my car so I only had to do one trip. Here you can see a picture of my funny travel companion!!

As soon as I arrived home, though, I realized I wasn’t exactly at home. Yeah, ok, here I can go around and do whatever I want, but there is something missing: the feeling you create with your flatmates is completely different from the one with your family (ok, it’s obvious… sorry for stating that).

Also, I’ve always been relocating year after year: from the South of Italy to the North, then to another city, then to another country, then back to Italy and to another city again and next, to another country again. I’m not quite sure where I should feel at home. Well, I think I’ve got something… It’s different, it’s not that I don’t feel at home.

I actually feel at home everywhere I go. Every place has given me something that I’ll never forget. Friends, parties, cheap beer, amazing sight-seeings, etc… And every time I go back to a particular place I still feel that I am at home. That’s it. Thanks WordPress for helping me out on understanding this.

So… Here we go!! Next home: Copenhagen!

Holy crap, I forgot my bike in Milan!!

Leaving is never easy

This post couldn’t start with a different song:

Every time it gets harder.

Today I started packing all my stuff, and I became sad. I know, I’m leaving in 2 days, but there is so much stuff that I need to start some days earlier.

Going through books, notes, presents, made me realise how amazing this year has been. Friends, exams, more-than-friends… This is where everything gets harder. Most of my classmates will only leave for a semester and they will be back here in Milan to complete their studies, but not me. I will spend the whole Academic Year in Copenhagen, and I’ll be back here in Italy just for the graduation (hopefully I’ll have a job there and I will be back in CPH).

Today I also packed my Xbox. I know it sounds stupid, but it was the hardest thing to do, because I will never be able to bring it over in Denmark, and it will have to remain at home… Good bye Xbox, take care!

good bye xbox

Apart from that, I already packed 3 suitcases. I still got 2 more bags to pack, but luckily I’ve got my awesome car here that will help me moving everything in just one trip (fingers crossed).

However, packing didn’t stop me from finding amazing videos on Youtube. I started to think that this is the real purpose of my life. So, here you go:

1. Amazing body-painting from Fiat USA… I’m wondering why we never get amazing ads like this in Italy (here the article from Mashable):

2. This NSA thing is getting out of hands:

3. Good ad from Qualcomm, showing how the world without mobile would be… The hashtag #BornMobile is getting trending on Twitter:

4. I’m still sad, and this song is the perfect background music I need:

There’s only one thing left in my drawer now. But it’s by far the most important thing now. BRING IT ON COPENHAGEN!!

Bring it on Copenhagen

It is over, but it just started

This post is going to be quite long, since I’ll have to catch up with all the time left behind.

Big news #1: exams, and the first year of my Master’s Degree, are over.

Big news #2: my quest to look for a place where to live and a job/internship in Copenhagen has just started.

So, in few words, I won’t be having any holidays this year. Fair enough, I am going to spend one year in one of the most awesome places on Earth – after Italy, obviously.

I actually had my last exam on the 5th of July, but I had to catch up with a few things, such as getting some sleep… I also hosted an awesome friend of mine!! I met him for the first time in Dublin almost 3 years ago, during my Erasmus programme, and he decided to come to Milan for 3 days to relive the good times gone. Amazing!! Almost as amazing as a cat that wants to be a dog:

Going back in time, exams were really stressful, but I eventually succeeded. It feels awesome not to have any exams left behind (especially finance, a course that I used to hate and that now I love), so I will be better focusing in spending my year at CBS… Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Going even more back in time, I started learning some coding languages on Codecademy… It’s an amazing tool if you want to start from the very basic tasks. Plus, the badge feature pushes you to do always more!

Also, I have become a Beta Tester for Keepod, an innovative Operating System…

keepod beta testerCan’t wait to try it!!!

Oh, another thing… I participated to the Wired Next Fest here in Milan, where I saw the cutest scene in all my life… THIS ONE:

big vs small dog

Cute, isn’t it?

You are probably asking yourselves “Why Piero hasn’t shared any music videos yet?”. You probably aren’t. Either way, here’s the best songs that helped me studying:

  • Macklemore, but especially the trumpets at 4:01:

  • The next summer song:

I won’t go further because I have too many stupid videos that I found in the last weeks and I feel the need to share them with you… But before that, I want to share a gallery of stupid/cute pictures (it’s part of a secret social experiment, don’t tell anybody!!). Just click on one of the pics and the pop-up gallery will open:

And now, YOUTUBE TIME:

1. Sometimes I would just like to be a robot that makes clever jokes against Rory McIlroy:

2. The part when the dog gets stuck in the fence makes me laugh every time (btw, can this be regarded as animal cruelty?):

3. GoPro and Red Bull… No need for further comments:

4. One of the most interesting examples of guerrilla marketing:

This is probably enough for the day…

Ciaooooooooooooo

Oh, yeah… The title.

Sorry. It’s been so long that I almost forgot the password to log in.

Some updates on their way.

I got the documents for my Double Degree programme in Copenhagen – it means I’ve been accepted by the Copenhagen Business School as well (yaaaaaaaaaay!!) – and I’ve started to look for a (possibly cheap) place where to live. I fell in love with one of the dorms, the Tietgenkollegiet. Here are some pictures and you will understand why it is so amazing:

See? Amazing stuff… It was also mentioned on 9gag (thanks sbiri <3)!!

We had some updates in our house too, and a Chinese guy arrived. However, he’s already leaving because of some issues 😦

Switching to another completely unrelated topic, I had some breaks from University – which didn’t help me very much to be fair. As a matter of fact, I am at home with my family now, but I do not feel free as I still have group projects to develop. Plus, my mother is already depressed thinking that I will leave for another year. It’s not the best break I could desire.

Nevertheless, I am surrounded by amazing people… I’m finding out day after day who are the people I’ll never forget, even though this experience in Milan only lasted for one year (I’m already speaking of Milan as it were a thing from the past).

Oh, I started Assassin’s Creed III. This is by far the most important thing. And the 3rd season of Game of Thrones has started, which brings me to the first pick of the day:

Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Second pick of the day (was actually some days ago, but nevermind… Making fun of celebrities is always good):

And lastly, some Drum n’ base, which always puts me in the right mood to study do something useful… Enjoy!
